Triangles is a parasite conceptual structure based as a light installation of the Fort Lauderdale 17th Street Bridge located in Miami, Florida.
This parasitic structure envelopes the bridge from the bottom to its sides, creating a new public space underneath the bridge and also serving as an acoustic barrier for the surroundings of the bridge coming from its traffic. A possible connection between the highest point of the bridge and the ground is offered trough-out a suspended gallery.
This gallery can have various functions from an open space disco club to a bar/restaurant. The panels of the structure are made of acrylic glass or perforated metal and attached to a structural steel lattice.
The whole parasitic structure is lightened by neon lights attached to the lattice. The color scheme can change and offers various colors and gradients. The light can be consistent but it can also be pulsing and turning on and off, all controlled by a computer system.
